The world is full of motivational posters!
We created VALUES.INK because we wanted to give people the ability to create, educate and live by a value system in their home or workplace.

Why

When we act on our strengths (values) it makes us feel more real and authentic. Taking the time to discover our personal, family or workplace values helps us make decisions, set boundaries, and understand how to best spend our time as an individual; as a family, or as part of a team.

Research shows that using your character strengths and values can help you:

  • Improve your relationships.
  • Enhance health and overall wellbeing.
  • Buffer against, manage and overcome problems.
  • Increases happiness and life satisfaction; and
  • Decrease depression and anxiety.

Importance

Many people don't think about their values until a crisis arises that forces them to make decisions that may go against their beliefs. While they may have never identified their values, all of a sudden they are faced with the realisation that something doesn't quite fit into what they believe in. This is when people realise how important values are to the structure and operation of their family or workplace.
Values are important because they can help us to predict each other’s choices, and can help us avoid misunderstandings, frustration and distrust. They help us educate, set standards of behaviour, achieve goals, build character and identify positive relationships for ourselves and others.

Visual Values as a Reference

By having the ability to visualise our values and put them on display, we do a few important things: We teach our brains to recognise what resources it will need to help us succeed in reaching our goals, and we also create a reference point for inner motivation and expectation. Visual references also serve as a reminder of how we see ourselves, how we see others, how treat others, and how we wish to be treated - at home, out in the world, or in the workplace.
